Karl Sackeyfio : A Ghanaian actor to definitely keep tabs on!
The acting scene in Ghana has been making headlines for all the right reasons over the past few years, and one particular talent we feel the public needs to watch out for is none other than Karl Sackeyfio!
Why are we singing Karl Sackeyfio’s praises in this early stage of his career? Well, Jamie says…
It’s safe to say that Karl has put in a lot of work honing his craft as an actor, especially considering it wasn’t part of the plan.
When we asked him how he got into acting, he said, “As crazy as it may sound, it kinda fell in my lap. At the time, I was focused on commercial modelling, and a casting director back at Apex Advertising felt the need to redirect my path, so she threw me off course and gave me an acting gig masked as a commercial gig.“

Naturally, this response got us to ask how he ventured into modelling to begin with, to which he also added, “At the time I was in my third year at the university (KNUST) and a friend asked me to escort him to Apex Advertising (we know, right?) for an audition. Upon arrival, the casting director innocently asked me to audition, to which I got the role, and it kicked off from there.”

Karl felt he needed to work harder after he left a lot to be desired from his first role, so naturally, he decided to study lots of films, and in particular, acting styles; and the work, they say, is in the pudding, as he has landed key roles in Ghanaian series such as House Of Klu, Kwame’s Gambit, and The Baecation, as well as starring in movies and short films such as The Purse, A Baby For You and Me, December 7th: Election Day, Blue Lagoon Street and Mary’s Christmas; among others!

Finally, when we asked Karl about his goals with regards to his career, he stated “Well as social doctors , my biggest goal is to avail myself in the most constructive way to inform , educate and create awareness on social issues that can be easily relatable to the audience. Then and only then can I feel fulfilled as an actor”.
