MayAfrique to hold online sewing class in March 2026

Ghanaian sustainable fashion brand, MayAfrique, will be organizing an online sewing class for all interested designers in March 2026!

What should people expect to learn from MayAfrique during the class? And when exactly is it happening?

The online sewing class will be tailored (no pun intended) to give beginners and intermediate-skill level patrons the necessary techniques needed to equip themselves with the life-changing ability to turn thoughts into beautiful designs, clothes and more! The students will learn everything from an introduction to sewing machines/sewing tools, to how to take accurate body measurement/figure types/appropriate outfits, to hand stitching techniques, to machine stitching techniques, to fabrics and seams finishing, to shape builders (gathering, pleats, tucks and darts), to pattern drafting & garment construction (basic bodice block, trousers block, and skirt block), to both dart manipulation and dart transfer, to contouring, jacket, and garment construction projects!!!

The online sewing training will run for 3 months, and will be taught by none other than Mavis Anartey, the ultra-talented CEO, fashion designer, and visionary behind the amazing MayAfrique brand!!!
