The Maggi Waakye Summit returns to bring some festive cheer to food lovers in Accra

Food lovers in Accra have been given an early Christmas treat, following the news that the Maggi Waakye Summit, one of the biggest food festivals in Ghana, will be making a return in December!

Why do we feel the Maggi Waakye Summit is one of the biggest food festivals in Ghana? Well… Jamie Says!!!

The event returns to the Efua Sutherland Park in Accra, Ghana on Boxing Day, the 26th of December 2025! As someone who has attended it quite a few times, I still somehow find myself left in awe as the vendors and organizers constantly find ways to up the ante on a regular occasion. While I’m pleased that the event is making its return after missing out last year (possibly due to the General Elections in Ghana, my personal assumption), I am sad that I’ll be missing this edition due to a “change in scenery”.

This year’s edition will be from 9 AM to 9 PM, so make sure you plan your day accordingly. My advice… Plan with your friends, make a proper day out of the occasion, and enjoy some great food, music, and drinks as well!
